New Hours At Williams Memorial Library
Effective March 12th, the Williams Memorial Library will reduce its hours of operation to Thursday afternoons (2-6 pm.). We regret any inconvenience to patrons currently using this library, but feel that the staff time will be used more effectively in other endeavors. We will continue to fill all of your PINES requests, and of course Ms. Merle and Ms. Tammy will be here for after-school story hour.
This decision by the Harris County Library Board has been made after much consideration. Library usage has been well below what was anticipated when the library was planned more than eight years ago. We hope that all of our patrons will be able to visit us on Thursday afternoons.
An Evening With Terry Kay
Friends of the LaGrange Memorial Library invite you to an evening with Terry Kay on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at 7PM in the Fackler Meeting Room at LaGrange Memorial Library. His most recent novels are Bogmeadow’s Wish, set in Ireland and The Greats of Cutter Cane, short stories set in Georgia.
Admission is free. Refreshments and book signing immediately after the program.
Big Book Sale - Harris County Public Libraries
The Friends of Harris County Public Libraries Big Book Sale will be here before we know it. The library staff has been collecting books since last May and now volunteers are sorting, pricing, and boxing. Saturday, a group of Friends caravan-ed another 125 boxes over to the sale site at Sunnyside Historic Schoolhouse.
We could really use volunteers and BOXES. If you have office supply boxes, copies paper boxes we would love to have them. Please just drop them by the library in Hamilton. If you would like to volunteer, please leave your name and contact information with the library staff.
Last year the book sale raised over $5000. Most of the proceeds went to fund the Friends local early literacy project (Ferst Foundation for Childhood Literacy). Please help us make it another big success!
